25/26/27 June off-road racing returns to Maggiora Offroad Arena
Just a few more hours to register for the event that will celebrate the return of off-road vehicles to the Maggiora Offroad Arena after a year and a half.
The Maggiora 4×4 Experience Summer Edition, the rally dedicated to all off-road vehicles, will be held next weekend, and registration closes on the 24th at 6pm.
Three levels of difficulty
The event, organised by Sport Club Maggiora under the aegis of the Italian Off-road Federation (FIF), includes a route, approximately 5 kilometres long, that includes itineraries of three levels marked by different colours, according to the best-known classification of ski slopes, thus distinguishing their increasing level of difficulty.
The track indicated in BLUE is suitable for 4×4 cars in typical road-going trim; to enjoy the RED track some preparation elements (such as roll-bar, seat and racing belts) are required; the most difficult track, the BLACK, is intended exclusively for highly tuned prototypes.
At each junction a signpost indicates, with appropriate arrows, which road to take according to the characteristics of each car. The beauty of this route is that it is completely natural, surrounded by greenery, on roads that are normally closed to vehicular traffic and climb the slopes of the hills around Maggiora Offroad Arena; there is no shortage of bumps and fords in the Sizzone stream.
The course is then completed by atwist area, with holes and elements of difficulty artificially created for the event, to test cars and... drivers!
Each passage is manned by organisation personnel who, in addition to supervising the smooth running of the event, are able to provide participants with advice on how to deal with the obstacles that gradually present themselves to them.
Participation will be limited with mandatory pre-registration.
According to the current ANTI COVID regulations, the event will be behind closed doors; three accompanying persons per car will be allowed entry, whose names must be communicated in advance in order to gain access to the facility.
