Everything is ready at the Maggiora Offroad Arena for Round 3 of the Italian Rallycross Championship, scheduled for Friday 20 and Saturday 21. It will be a very special Round because the sporting part will take place entirely on Saturday, with semifinals and finals at night, and above all, both on Friday and Saturday there will be plenty of room for fun, with the Beer Party!
But before the celebrations there will really be a great show on the track thanks to the almost fifty entrants that will compete in the different categories. The track, illuminated for the occasion by powerful headlights, will be in Reverse conformation, with an important novelty: at the start the drivers, for safety reasons also connected with the particular timetable of the event, will not take the characteristic hook hairpin bend, but will connect directly to the central part of the track thanks to a stretch of track specially created.
RX5/Supercar
All the best drivers will be there, from classification leader Gianmaria Gabbiani (Skoda Fabia R5) to his closest pursuer Fabio Mezzatesta (Peugeot 208 R5); Round 2 winner Werner Gurschler (Skoda Fabia R5) will not be missing, and two other drivers, Gianmarco Donetto (Skoda Fabia R5) and Marco Paccagnella (Hyundai i20 R5), will be making their debut.
The only Supercar representative will be Michele Andolina (Fiat Punto).
STC/Super 1600
In the STC min 2000 there will be the big return of the reigning champion, Czech Roman Castoral, who has so far formed an almost unbeatable duo with his Opel Astra. Marco Nicolini (Peugeot 205) will try to trouble him.
A great battle is expected in the STC min 1600, with Round 2 winner Paolo Barbieri (Citroen C2) having to defend himself from attacks by Marco Valsesia, Matteo Valazza and cousins Daniele and Damiano Delfino, all on Citroen Saxo, as well as the returning Pier Paolo Caputo (Peugeot 2015 Rallye).
Always present was Alberto Palestrini with his trusty Renault Super5.
In Super 1600, two veterans like Marco Valazza (Ford Fiesta) and Armando Tocchio (Peugeot 106) will have to contend with the enthusiasm of Jenni Sonzogni, making her rallycross debut in a Renault Clio.
Kartcross
All the drivers in the top positions are present, starting with the leader, tricampeon Marcello Gallo (LifeLive TN5), his closest pursuers Riccardo Canzian (Speedcar Xtreme) and Round 2 winner Christian Tiramani (Planet Kart Cross K3), to continue with Under 18 Valentino Ledda (Ya-Car), the Grieco brothers , Nicolò and Matteo, (GMN Kart Cross), Riccardo Vacciaga (Planet Kart Cross K3), Maicol Giacomotti (Planet Kart Cross K3), Christian Rotundo (GMN Kart Cross) and Matteo Zorzetto (GMN Kart Cross).
Also noteworthy is the presence, in addition to Ledda, of no less than four other Under18s: Nicola Morlacchi (Demon Car), Giuseppe Bitti (Ya-Car), Marcus Antonio Martinelli (GMN Kart Cross), and Matteo Bernini (KC).
And when the engines go out, the Beer Party at PalaRX comes on!
Both Friday and Saturday will be fun for everyone!
When the engines turn off, the party will start with music by Notte Illecita by Ale Ruspini Band on Friday and the famous DJ Reneè La Bulgara on Saturday night. Always present, of course, the legendary DJ Veleno.
The PalaRX, covering an area of over 300 square metres, will be set up, where you can enjoy the menu proposed by SCM - the catering service will be provided until midnight - and then let loose to the rhythm of music all night long... or almost!
