Bad weather was a major player in Round 4 of the CIRX, run in Night Race version at Maggiora Offroad Arena in Reverse conformation, with rain decimating the competitors and forcing the organizers of Sport Club Maggiora to work hard to try to ensure the best possible race conditions.
However, there was no shortage of spectacular moments, thanks to the drivers who deserve applause because they competed in really difficult conditions.
RX5
She doesn't stop anymore: Jenni Sonzogni (Skoda Fabia R5) also won the final of Round 4 in 4'13"912 - the race took place over 4 laps, due to rain, instead of the 6 initially planned - , preceding Gianmarco Donetto (Skoda Fabia R5), who had started well, but had a problem during the first lap, and Fabio Mezzatesta (Hyundai i20 R5). The young Lombardy driver, making his debut in the wet, soon found the right measures in the rain and once again showed all his class.
Supercar
Only two cars were classified in this category, with Marco Noris having to run the final with his Mitsubishi Lancer without turbocharger, but he still managed to get ahead of Max Gilardetti, who was also struggling with problems with his Peugeot 206: a positive day therefore in any case for Noris, who strengthens his leadership in the standings.
Super Touring Car
Many retirements in the STCs as well: among the STC-2000s, Austria's Josef Strebinger (VW Polo) managed to pull ahead of a still positive Ermes Mapi (Renault Clio), while Lucas Scabbia (Peugeot 207) came out on top in the STC +2000 ahead of Gianni Saddi (Citroen DS3).
Valentino Ledda continues his clear path in the STC -1600: again today the young Sardinian driver won decisively in his Peugeot 208 ahead of Damiano Delfino and Daniele Delfino, both in Citroen Saxo.
Kartcross
He had been the great ruler in the Qs and in the finals he was ahead of everyone then, because of a puddle, Riccardo Canzian lost several positions: with a prodigious comeback the Speedcar Xtreme No. 616 driver returned to the lead and won in 6'51"421 - Kartcross drivers ran the finals over 6 laps - ahead of Adriano Fontana (YA-CAR), who when he shows up at the start hardly makes a mistake in the race, and Fabio Pizzi, at the wheel of a Sidertec KC3.
Round 5 in July
For a few weeks the engines of the Italian Rallycross Championship will be silent: the next event will be on July 8/9 at the Pomposa Circuit, in the Ferrarese region of Italy, for an all-new race.
