We're almost there: everything is ready at Maggiora Offroad Arena for the seventh round of the FIA European Autocross Championship, the Borgo Agnello Trophy, scheduled for September 12-14.
Although the top positions in the various rankings are all occupied by foreign drivers, there will be many Italian protagonists who wanted to honor a prestigious race such as Maggiora. Let's take a look at them category by category.
Super Buggy
There is a strong contingent of Italian drivers in the premier class: Angelo SPAGNOL (Super Buggy/JVDC), Daniele CARONELLI (F&S Chassis/Super Buggy), Peter STECCA (Trackline Motorsport), Davide NEGRI (Super Buggy Hosek), Dino SEMENZATO (Rom Sport/01), Alessandro GALLOTTA (Grr Racing/SB), and Davide CASARIN (Fast & Speed/Racing).
Buggy 1600
Only one rider is defending the Italian flag: Claudio PIGATO (Pap 04/Hayabusa).
Cross Car
While none of our drivers will be competing in the Junior Buggy category, which has historically been less popular among Italian drivers, there will be a good number of them in the Cross Car category, aiming to be among the leaders. Here are their names: Federico PINI (Speedcar wonder/Industrias Lahoz); Nicola LANDRINI (Planet Kart Cross/K3); Alexander Karim MANCUSI (Lifelive/TN11); Matteo ALTOÈ (Speedcar Wonder/Mt09); Fabio PIZZI (Master Racing/Viper); Nicolò GRIECO (GMN/Xc); Simone FIRENZE (GMN XC/Yamaha); Omar MODOLO (G-Speed/XC); Marcus Antonio MARTINELLI (Planet/K3); Matteo Grieco (GMN XC); Gabriele ZOPPETTI (FS Chassis/F&SXC).
Junior Cross Car
There is only one Italian representative in this category, Bernardo BITTI, at the wheel of a Camotos Rapace.
A great weekend
There is also great anticipation for the spectacular Notte Bianca (White Night) on Friday, September 12, with a parade of the cars featured in the European Championship along the streets of Maggiora, food stands, and musical performances. But that's not all: on Saturday, September 13, from 7:00 p.m. at the Maggiora Offroad Arena, there will be a fantastic Pizza Party (with a wood-fired oven!), in collaboration with Pizzeria Tre e Trenta, followed by music with Deejay Veleno.
In short, it will be a weekend not to be missed!
